The Dysphagia Duo, Part 1: The Impact of Nutrient Deficiencies on Swallowing Disorders
Cat Ludwig, RDN, LD, CLT
Dysphagia is often a condition we expect to see primarily in older adults, however more and more adolescents and young adults are being impacted by this condition. There is plenty of evidence that people with digestive and microbiome imbalances experience dysphagia of some form. Despite this, gut health is rarely included in the intervention process.
In this webinar, the first of a two-part series with the Dysphagia Duo, you will learn strategies to prevent and address deficiencies linked to dysphasia and the truth behind common misconceptions surrounding various swallowing disorders. We'll delve into the physical and psychological factors that contribute to this fear, and most importantly, we'll provide you with a range of empowering solutions to help your patients.

Cat Ludwig, RDN, LD, CLT, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who specializes in swallowing disorders. She is co-owner of Dysphagia Duo with her partner Stephanie Peper, MA, CCC-SLP, where they address Dysphagia with a nutrition first focus to support whole body healing. Prior to becoming a Dietitian, Cat worked in food service and was trained as a Chef at the Art Institute of Seattle, graduating in 2007. Dysphagia Duo was formed after realizing that a large percentage of people suffer from non-traditional swallowing disorders and are not receiving care because they do not fit the typical Dysphagia stereotype. Dysphagia Duo provides training, education, and support to the Dysphagia community and its caregivers. Cat speaks at various events and is passionate about helping others realize food can be delicious, healthful, and satisfying, and can also be used to aid in healing the body.
