About the Speaker
Stephanie Peper, MA, CCC-SLP, is a highly experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with over 30 years of specialized expertise in dysphagia. A native of South Louisiana, she began her career in acute rehabilitation after earning her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Following a move to the Midwest, she continued her work with a major hospital organization, serving across multiple levels of care. In 2007, Stephanie earned certification as a Brain Injury Specialist, complementing her long-standing credentials with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), where she has held her Certificate of Clinical Competence since 1994. Stephanie is a recognized leader in her field, has spoken at conferences and events on topics such as dysphagia, sensory desensitization and awareness, and caregiver compassion fatigue/secondary traumatic stress. Her expertise has earned her national recognition, including an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show and participation in documentaries that highlight brain injury and dysphagia awareness. Passionate about patient education, Stephanie is dedicated to empowering families and caregivers, understanding that dysphagia affects the entire family unit. Her advocacy continues to drive awareness and improve care in the communities she serves.
