Milton Bastidas, DC, CIHP, was born in Colombia and is a graduate of Texas Chiropractic College with additional certification in Functional Medicine. He is Founder of True Lifelong Wellness Center and has been in practice since 1998 treating skeletal conditions, sports injuries, and systemic disorders. Dr. Bastidas is also Vice President of the College of Integrative Medicine (CIM) as well as Director of Research and Development at Transformation Enzyme Corporation. Amy Rawls MS, RD, LD, FMNS, CGN, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who uses an Integrative & Functional Nutrition approach that focuses on root cause resolution and mind-body optimization. Amy has been in practice since 2010 and completed her master's degree with a Dietetic residency through Lamar University. Caroline Carpenter, DC, graduated from chiropractic school in 2012 from Palmer, IA, and has since opened her own practice in Little Rock, AR, offering chiropractic services and functional medicine. She is co-owner of Dysphagia Duo with her partner Stephanie Peper, MA, CCC-SLP, where they address Dysphagia with a nutrition first focus to support whole body healing. Cat completed her Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition at Bastyr University in 2016 and a Dietetic Internship at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay in 2017. Prior to becoming a Dietitian, Cat worked in food service and was trained as a Chef at the Art Institute of Seattle, graduating in 2007. Dysphagia Duo was formed after realizing that a large percentage of people suffer from non-traditional swallowing disorders and are not receiving care because they do not fit the typical Dysphagia stereotype. Dysphagia Duo provides training, education, and support to the Dysphagia community and its caregivers. Cat speaks at various events and is passionate about helping others realize food can be delicious, healthful, and satisfying, and can also be used to aid in healing the body.
Mahamane Mamadou, PhD, holds a B.Sc. (University of Wisconsin-Madison), M.Sc. (University of Kentucky, Lexington), and Ph.D. (University of Cincinnati). Dr. Mamadou's post-doctoral fellowship was in the Department of Pharmacology and Cell Biophysics (University of Cincinnati) working on developmental gene expression. Dr. Mamadou's teaching and research activities have been in the areas of protein chemistry, enzymology, food sciences and technology, cell and molecular biology, environmental health, biomedical engineering, and biotechnology. He has taught and conducted research at several universities and has provided consulting and research services for various industries in product development, environmental toxicology, and functional foods as dietary supplements. Her expertise has earned her national recognition, including an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show and participation in documentaries that highlight brain injury and dysphagia awareness. Lisa Pomeroy, ND, is a traditional naturopath with extensive training in functional medicine, lab test interpretation, and gut microbiome balancing through the Kalish Institute, The Microbiome Restoration Center, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN), Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), Functional Medicine University (FMU), and other organizations.
