Stress and Resilience During a Crisis
Amy Rawls, MS, RD, LD, CGN, FMNS
Cortisol is essential for everyday energy and functioning of the body. But chronic stress means prolonged cortisol elevation, which causes our digestive tract to become dysfunctional and the intestinal lining to become degenerative, losing its integrity. Breakdown of muscle mass, holes in our eipthelial lining, and intestinal permeability (aka "leaky gut") trigger a chain reaction of systemic inflammation and immune reactions. Chronic stress is therefore the primary cause or exacerbating factor of most if not all physical and mental disorders.
In this webinar, Transformation's Director of Education and Clinical Services discusses how enzymes and probiotics together with herbal and nutritional support can help manage stress, especially during times of crisis, benefiting mental health, the immune system, and digestive wellness.
